The update for the second week was just a short post, so here's a more detailed article for weeks three and four.
In the third week of my drawing adventure, I started sketching spontaneous live impressions. Unfortunately, the results were mixed. I still find it challenging to apply what I've learned to real-world scenarios a few days later.
My sketches turn out better when I start drawing right after watching a video. However, faces continue to be a major difficulty for me.
Therefore, I did another study of various faces. It's clear I need to practice more in this area.
I must admit, I drew too little overall in the third week.
With renewed motivation, I started week 4 by spontaneously sketching my young daughter eating an apple.
That same evening, I came across a video with a fun idea: take three different animal pictures, break them down into their individual parts, and then combine them to create a new, fictional creature. The result was a very unusual figure.
In week 3, I noticed that my sketches often lacked volume. So, I've decided to draw various perspectives of a cube at least once a day.
Additionally, I will draw as many faces as possible from different perspectives each day.
Personally, after three and a half weeks, I still enjoy drawing immensely. One moment, I'm pleased with how something turned out, only to immediately realize how badly I can mess up the perspective on the next face I draw.
Thanks for sticking around, folks. Don’t worry, I’ll be back before you know it.
Cheers,
TLOU
